[Apologies if you receive duplicates of this message.] The Scheme Language Steering Committee solicits volunteers who are willing to serve on working groups 1 and/or 2. Emacs + Gambit on Windows

Hi, I'm trying out gambit 4.5.3 on Windows XP. I installed it using the mingw distribution. I can run both gsc and gsi just fine from a command console, but I can't seem to get inferior scheme mode working on Emacs (v23.1.1). I put gambit.el in my load path and set (require 'gambit) in my .emacs file. When I try to run gsi using Meta-x run-scheme, I get a new emacs buffer but don't seen the REPL. If I try to run gsi from a dos shell within emacs, a new windows pops up with gsi running, but it doesn't echo anything that I type. Any ideas? -- Siddharth

Mark, For lib/makefile, I end up replacing $(INSTFILES_LIB_DATA) with $$INSTFILES_LIB_DATA. I also stripped out the backslash symbol from both the HEADERS_SCM and the LIBRARIES_SCM variables from the same file to allow the make install work for Solaris 10. Advice on structure serialisation

Hallo, I am investigating the use of object->u8vector for serialisation of game state. It seems pretty straightforward, but I am concerned with future updates. I suppose that if I alter the structure in future versions I must change the 'id' field as well, so the old serialised structures won't be recognised as of the same type? Alex, I am using solaris make which is at /usr/ccs/bin/make GNU make which came with the Solaris 10 is broken complaining about missing autoconf. Mark, I put quotes as you mentioned. (u8vector->object (object->u8vector p))) ==> #f Here is my version info: gsi -v v4.5.3 20091112143817 i386-apple-darwin10.2.0 "./configure --no-create --no-recursion" Are structures serializable?
