Sorry, my last reply didn't have the list cc'd:
I suggest you download and untar gambc40b17 again and try it.
Thanks for that. I've gotten rid of that particular problem, now I'm getting bus errors:
_system.c: In function `___H__20___system': _system.c:13411: internal compiler error: Bus error Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. See URL:http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter for instructions. make[1]: *** [_system.o] Error 1 make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
I'm assuming that this is an issue with my version of gcc. Unfortunately I'm still on OS 10.3 so that means I'll have to wait until I actually upgrade to Tiger.
Thanks for your help
Cheers, Scott

Somehow the last modification dates on your .scm file in lib/ (in particular lib/_kernel.scm) are more recent than on the corresponding .c files (did you modify any of the .scm files?).
Try untaring the distribution again and try a make (after a ./configure). If that doesn't work (I'd like to understand why it doesn't), then simply
touch lib/_*.c make
That should fix it.

Hello all,
Each time I try to compile gambit I get the following error:
/bin/sh: line 1: ../gsc/gsc: No such file or directory make: *** [_kernel.c] Error 127
Or a variation thereof. I've tried ./configure with the following options
--enable-single-host --enable-cplusplus --enable-shared --enable-debug
in various combinations (as well as without any options). It looks like there's supposed to be an executable compiled in the gsc directory and it's not happening.
Does anyone have any pointers? I've done a bit of searching but my google-foo must be a bit weak.
I'm running OS X 10.3.9 with gcc 3.3
