Just an update to let you know that I've updated the MySQL library in the Dumping Grounds.
I've fixed a few potential bugs that Marc spotted and have added support for prepared statements although not all data types are fully supported yet. I've also added a candidate SQL Abstraction Layer to provide a higher level API like JDBC in Java. The idea being that you could swap database drivers and not have to rewrite your code.

Hi,
I've added a new library to the Dumping Grounds on the Gambit wiki. The library is a pure Scheme socket level client for MySQL. The advantage over the current FFI based library is that it won't stop all of your Gambit threads so it is suitable for multithreaded applications.
It's at an early stage yet and only supports dynamic SQL and not prepared statements. Result Sets are returned as a list of lists i.e. one list for each row.
Here's an example :-
(with-connection (mysql-connect "localhost" 3306 "test" "fred" "fred") (pp (mysql-execute-query "SELECT * FROM USER")) )
