Indeed, you don't need gsi to run Gambit on Android. I haven't tested Sean's solution to avoid gsi compilation, but after the compilation error you just need to grab the *correctly* compiled libgambc.a

TCL,
I never got gsi to compile on android but it isn't needed to run scheme on android. To rid of the errors you might want to edit the makefile.in in the gambit package to not build gsi
Change line 73: SUBDIRS = include lib gsi gsc bin misc doc tests examples contrib prebuilt To: SUBDIRS = include lib gsc bin misc doc tests examples contrib prebuilt
you might have to remove some of the other items as well if they don't compile. I haven't tested this and I'm not sure if it will work but hopefully it will point you in the right direction.

Hi TCLEval,
Can you please provide a complete log and explain at what step it does not work and if you have any thought on why it didn't?

Hi,
How can I build gambit as a static library? (build only the static library) I am building an app for android, so I have to use a gambit as a static library to link to my NDK shared library. Everything is working as sujested by https://github.com/seoushi/gambit-android-example , but the compilation fails and I d like a clean method to build the static library without the error on the end of compilation process given while building gsi.
thanks for your time
