Does that mean...I can compile on my Fedora box and move the compiled program to Red Hat and it will probably work?
The cited text means that you can recompile the C code generated by Gambit-C in any platform with a C compiler. If you are asking if a binary program built on Fedora will work on Red Hat the answer is probably yes, but because both share the same C runtime (glibc) and OS (Linux).
