Seems worth trying for.
Some ideas to spend money on:
1. Student funding (getting another grad student, or two on the project?),.
2. Sending more Tachyon team members to more conferences.
3. Useful resources for the project - dedicated benchmark systems, multiple platforms? x86-32/x86-64, ARM - renting a dedicated server and domain name for GIT and a Tachyon webpage - communication tools for the lab?
4. Are there any hardware/software assets we could purchase to increase our productivity? ipads, I mean android tablets for everyone! (running ARM).
5. Visiting/communicating with other people working on JS implementation. Organizing a JS implementors/researchers conference.

How about submitting a grant proposal to Google on the Tachyon project?

How would we spend the budget (up to $150,000).
