Unfortunately, I think we can already start drowning our sorrows... unless the R6RS committee thinks 63% is not enough to ratify the draft.

Preliminary results are now available at:
http://www.r6rs.org/ratification/preliminary-results.html
If you think you voted (before the poll closed), you should make sure that your vote is properly recorded here. (And if you think you -didn't- vote, make sure somebody didn't submit a ballot with your name on it!)
I'd like to emphasize that these are -preliminary- results. The Steering Committee can still make adjustments should any problems be brought to our attention.
People who submitted ballots after the poll closed should not worry that their input will be lost -- we will be putting together a companion document that includes your vote and your explanation.
We'll be announcing the existence of these preliminary results more widely soon, but I thought the electorate should get the first look.

I think the steering committee has a big problem on their hands given that there are so many implementors on the NO side. If they ratify the draft as-is, the R6RS will be "vapor-spec" because few implementations of Scheme will conform to it.

What kind of approval rate do you think is sufficient to make Scheme accepted, and which would be the parts of the spec that would be most critical to change in order to achieve those ratings? And then, what are the parts of the spec that you would most like to be changed?

Under the Roberts parliamentary code, changing the bylaws requires a 2/3 majority vote.

I had submitted my ballot on time, but with a wrong email address. Then, as Alan Bawden figured it out, I resubmitted it, but then with the correct email address. And I don't appear in the voters list.
I just sent him an email, and I hope they can add me.
But where are those who made LiSP #1 on amazon, when it comes to voting ? I suggest we set a discount on the next vote too !
