I am proud to announce that registration for the International Lisp Conference is now open. The conference will be held at the University of Montreal on the 15-17 August 2014.
There are several presentations on Scheme, Lisp and Clojure and other members of the Lisp family. The first day has tutorials related to programming mobile apps in Scheme (with Gambit Scheme) and knowledge based engineering in Common Lisp.
There are slots on August 16 and 17 for “lightning talks” (brief 5 to 10 minute talks). It would be great for local Schemers/Lispers to show off what is being done in Montreal. The presentation can be very informal… you get the microphone for a few minutes and when the time is up, we move on to the next presenter.
The early registration deadline is July 14, so it is to your advantage to register early if you want to save on the registration fee. There is a special rate of $300 for current members of MSLUG (those on the MSLUG mailing list or meetup group).
I hope to see many Montreal Scheme/Lisp fans at ILC2014! This is the first time the International Lisp Conference comes to Montreal, so don’t miss this opportunity. It might never come again this close!
Marc Feeley

Scope:
Lisp is one of the greatest ideas from computer science and a major
influence for almost all programming languages and for all
sufficiently complex software applications.
The International Lisp Conference is a forum for the discussion of
Lisp and, in particular, the design, implementation and application of
any of the Lisp dialects. We encourage everyone interested in Lisp to
participate.
This year's focus is directed towards integrated solutions, including
mobile computing. The conference also provides slots for lightning talks,
to be registered on-site every day.
