*ABSTRACT*In this general introduction to ethics, basic concepts and theories used by contemporary ethicist will be presented: the 3 parts of ethics, normative vs descriptive judgments, prudential vs ethical judgments, the 3 normative theories (about values, norms and virtues), moral minimalism vs maximalism.
*BIO* Martin Gibert is researcher in ethics of AI à University of Montreal (IVADO, CRÉ) and coordinator of the Montreal declaration for a responsible AI. He has published L'imagination en morale (Hermann, 2014) and Voir son steak comme un animal mort (Lux, 2015).

Actually it should be 11am, not 10:30am, to try to accommodate the DIRO profs meeting starting at 9:30.
