I just successfully built Gambit with in a fresh MinGW/MSys
environment -- MinGW/MSys were just installed last month. Everything
builds fine, but I get these errors when running "make check":

Seems strange (and a bit amusing) how there is a newline character in
the middle of the word "newline" in test output.

Just to test, I installed Gambit to the machine (which is running
Windows XP) using the binary distribution from the Gambit website.
Then I ran the test manually using:

{path-to-installed-gsi}/gsi
-:h4000,~~bin={path-to-installed-gsi}/bin,~~lib={path-to-installed-gsi}/lib,~~include={path-to-installed-gsi}/include
-f error.scm < error.scm

I was kind of expecting the test to succeed, but it gave the same
error output (with "newline" split into to pieces).

Any idea what is causing this?
