I got my OLPC machine, and now have a desktop x86_64 running Ubuntu, so if you want to talk about doing a sweet Gambit (Gambit on Sugar) I'd be happy to listen.
Would this sweet Gambit be something like Squeak?
Yes, I suppose. (Your e-mail got caught in my spam filter for a few days.) Brad

I would like to have something like that too. Maybe I could help with something. Cheers, -- -alex http://www.ventonegro.org/
I believe one of my students (Vincent St-Amour) might be interested as he owns an OLPC and has Gambit running on it. Marc On 1-Jun-08, at 11:49 AM, Alex Queiroz wrote:

I would indeed be interested. Gambit does run without any problems on the OLPC. Once you install gcc and co, Gambit compiles as normal. I began working on a sugarized version of Gambit, which is heavily based on pippy, the python programming activity included in sugar. Once I get to something that might be usable, I'll post the link here. If anyone has ideas, I'm listening. Vincent On Sun, Jun 01, 2008 at 11:53:36AM -0400, Marc Feeley wrote:

Squeak/Gambit would be fun... a fully reflective system, with an embedded IDE, a graphical toolkit... Looks like a lot of work too... I wonder how squeak and DrScheme are already close/far from each other... P! -- "I am not a Church numeral; I am a free variable!"
