Finally, how get --enable-debug goodness without a console file?

Dear Marc, --enable-debug is great to have enabled because it adds in more debug symbol info in compiled files than just CC_FLAGS="-g -O0", right? The console file easily grows beyond 10GB and fills a whole harddrive and sinks a whole OS and machine though. Would you kindly please want to devise/suggest a middle way that delivers --enable-debug but without the console file? Perhaps all the console file logics could just be switched off by adding/removing some C define. Just anything that works is fine. Thanks, Mikael
