When target_os is not darwin the second branch of the case is not executed, so the C compiler doesn't get configured.
Anyone know how to do this properly? I want the search list for C compilers to be different from the default on Mac OS X to avoid clang and LLVM gcc which misbehave when compiling Gambit (clang takes over an hour to compile Gambit, and LLVM gcc 4.2.1 has a code generation bug for label values).
