Marc, this sounds like a great idea.
I can put together a talk about the Parenscript Common Lisp to
JavaScript compiler for January.
If one of your students can present a talk about your work on JS
compilers that IMO would be very interesting. May be too much
JavaScript for some, but there's a lot of interesting optimization
problems in writing efficient JS compilers that are of use for Lisp
implementations.
