Thanks for both perspectives (oldest chronologically, oldest in current 
use). You can get almost any lisp or scheme ever written "running" (I've 
spent the last month working through dozens - Scheme on ITS being but 
the latest), but I like your view on oldest in use - active and being 
developed/improved. It's one of the reasons I started using gambit - not 
only has it been around a long time, but it's actively developed, it 
still supports old specs, and it's not one of those kitchen sink schemes.
