[gambit-list] Gambit wiki account creation

I'm a bit confused. I seem to have been caught/lost in the changes.

1. Some time ago (late March?) I had registered (my iMac
keychain was holding a user name and password). Between vacation and other
activities, I didn't have much time for Gambit until last weekend.

2. On Saturday I tried to sign on, and the Wiki said there was no such
user.

3. I tried to re-register, and after 15 minutes or so of typing in the funny
letters, I gave up and wrote a nasty email to the funny letter people.
(By the way, someone should write a pattern recognition program to help us
with these funny letter things which are becoming ubiquitous :-)

4. Later, still on Saturday, I tried to re-register again. This time I succeeded
on the first try.

5. I was never asked for a biography, or if so I missed the asking.

6. I've never received the email confirmation code (as far as I can tell),
but when I press "confirm email address", it says "A confirmation code has
already been e-mailed to you;" I checked my spamprobe file and it's not
there, either.

So I seem to be half in and half out.

I don't know if this is because of my carelessness or a system error.
If my carelessness, please accept my apology for the long email. But I
would like my email address to be authenticated.

Thanks,

John Velman

That way we should be able to reduce the spam down to zero. The price to pay is that the new account won't be usable immediately. So if you would like to contribute to the wiki, you might want to think about creating an account in advance.

Those without the patience can always enter 50 words of gibberish (and then I'll use some detective work to determine if they are a robot or not).
