It's a bug in the test suite. There's another thread on this dated
April 6 on the rchives. You can find it by searching on Google with
this query:

site:https://webmail.iro.umontreal.ca/pipermail/gambit-list/ enable-char-size=1

Where you can replace "enable-char-size=1" with anything you want to
search the archives for.
