I am happy to announce that the 11th Rhythm Production and Perception
Workshop (RPPW 2007) will be held at Kippure Lodge, Dublin, Ireland
from July 1st to 5th, 2007. Participants should arrive on the 1st,
and bus transfer to the workshop venue will be provided from
University College Dublin. The business of the workshop will be
conducted on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and participants will be bussed
back to University College Dublin after breakfast on the 5th.
This workshop provides a recurrent platform for experts in all
domains pertinent to the study of rhythm perception and production to
exchange ideas in a hearty manner. The workshop is inherently
interdisciplinary, and submissions are welcome from neuroscience,
psychology, linguistics, music studies, computational science and
other relevant disciplines. As many practitioners in the field are
also musicians, we strongly encourage participants to bring instruments.
Interested parties are requested to send a short abstract (max 500
words) to rppw07(a)gmail.com. Plain text submissions only please (no
HTML, absolutely no MS Word attachments!). Submissions must be
received by 5 p.m. on April 13th. All submissions will be reviewed.
The manner in which workshop proceedings will be published will be
established by consensus at the meeting.
Further details regarding registration, costs, etc will be circulated
in the near future.
This workshop is supported by the School of Computer Science and
Informatics at UCD, by Seed funding from UCD and by euCognition, the
network for the advancement of artificial cognitive systems.
We look forward to welcoming you to Dublin, and to a hearty and
productive workshop.
