This week Yoshua is going to give a talk. The room will be McNicoll Z-215. Hope to see many of you there.
Title:
Deep learning, manifold learning and the challenge of normalization constants
Abstract:
I will present some of the material for the four talks that I will give next week at the UCL masterclass series and talk at Oxford, U.K. This will include general material about deep learning, a description of the geometrical view on unsupervised learning shared by manifold learning algorithms and regularized auto-encoders, a discussion of the challenges involved in general-purpose modeling of probability distributions due the a large number of highly separated modes, and how depth and the framework of generative stochastic networks can help.
