Hi all,

We have several visitors following the summer school. In particular Rico
Jonschkowski will give a tea-talk this Friday at 2pm, rm 3195, on learning
state representations for robotics.

Title:
Learning State Representations with Robotic Priors -- And Why Machine
Learning Needs Robotics

abstract:
In this talk, I will present a roboticist's perspective on representation
learning. The talk will consist of two parts: In the first part, I will
present our work on learning state representations with robotic priors,
which are priors about how robots interact with the physical world. The
second part will be more philosophical and, I hope, controversial. I will
try to extrapolate from the first part and explain why machine learning
needs robotics to scale towards AI.
